Has anyone properly translated the title? My Japanese is far from "bad" but these ~nda type tenses always throw me off. "I Start From Here" would be my guess, but sometimes these idols throw me off. Like s/mileage's new single - wtf with that title haha

i haven't paid close attention to the lyrics so i don't know what the implication of the subject is, but yes, it's either "it starts from here!" or "I start from here!"

the "n" is meaningless, at least from what i was taught. it's more to do with it sounding more fluid, it doesn't sound right to say it as "hajimaru da". "da" as in the informal for "desu" (so it would be "hajimarun desu" not "hajimaru desu").

now, i'm sure saying "hajimarun desu" has a slightly different connotation than "hajimarimasu" or just "hajimaru", but that's where my knowledge stops. maybe it has more to do with the grammatical structure of the statement?

hajimaru is the root verb (informal present, or perhaps infinitive), so it can sometimes also be used as a noun. hajimarimasu is the conjugated verb (formal present).

It would be like "from here, it is a start/beginning" versus "it starts/begins from here".

I'm pretty sure the ん comes from の as you can say "はじまるのです" and it would have the same meaning as "はじまるんだ" only the latter is more casual. ん has come to be okay to use even in a "formal" setting though.

I'd say by adding んだ to the title instead of just making it ここからはじまります which would still carry the same meaning, it's more of a statement.
It's like... "It starts from here." vs "It starts from here!" if that would make sense? haha Fact vs statement, maybe?
idk. It's one of those nuance things that Japanese have that are a bitch to translate.

i got what you meant. ^-^ something that's being stated/spoken versus just a title or idea.
"no desu", hmm never thought of it that way. kinda makes sense. but even for short responses like いいんです! ?

いいんです and いいのです is the same thing. :3 Though I'd say that のです definitely sounds more lady-like and something I'd expect Fukuchan's mom to use maybe? But that's just a matter of having an image of how things are and such. xD

My impression was that the の / ん is used to indicate that it applies to some understood thing, rather than being open-ended. That is, "it is good" versus "it's a good <thing we've previously discussed>".
