During the lockdowns, when I was going out maybe once per week for mail and groceries, I became very good at matching store sales with online coupons. So much so that I routinely saved 40–50% on my total grocery bill. Sure, I bought a lot of stuff that I didn't really want or need, but most of it was non-perishable and practically free. When my cabinets were full, I started stacking stuff on the counters…
It's amazing how quickly I've gotten out of that routine. Stockpiling like that inevitably consumes your thoughts and limits your choices, until you just want to go out for a freaking burger.
