I bought a can of Trader Joe's Organic Sparkling Ginger + Lemon Apple Cider Vinegar Beverage today. I don't know who came up with the insane idea of making what is essentially vinegar soda, but it works — at least for someone like me, who likes to drink vinegar. :fear:

My primary reason for going to Trader Joe's today, though, was to pick up another of their bizarre beverages: Organic Jalapeño Limeade. I absolutely love the stuff, and I'm apparently not alone: I bought the last two bottles on the shelf, and the cashier told me it sells out quickly.

My dog is having to stay at the vet for a couple days. She hasn't been eating a whole lot in the last couple weeks, and whatever she does eat, she ends up throwing it back up later. :/
She got diagnosed w/ diabetes a few weeks ago, and her glucose hadn't been below 300 since then. The vet we had been going to didn't seem concerned at all; just kept increasing her insulin dose and pushing different foods on us.
We finally took her to a vet that a family friend uses. It's a little far, but everyone was super nice and the vet actually seemed to know what he was talking about. Her white blood cells were elevated, so she's got a little infection of some kind going on.
Her BUN/creatinine were also elevated, so they described it as stage 1 renal failure. They have her on antibiotics, fluids, and ran a catheter. They also changed the brand of insulin, because apparently the stuff we've been using doesn't work very well in dogs!
They actually called around 5PM and said that her glucose is below 300 and that they would try to get her to eat some wet food. She lost a considerable amount of weight in just over a month. :(

I bet that was a fun show! I listened to Jubilee on a whim and it's a pretty solid album. :thumbs-up:

I have a ticket for Rina Sawayama in Portland next April. I'm considering buying a ticket for Leon Bridges' Nashville show in May, but that's gonna depend on how much one costs.

We don't have Turkish restaurants around here. That's why it blows my mind when I go to Tokyo (or I guess other American cities, though I probably visit those less often lol) and see kebab places everywhere. I'm like... what? Kebobs?

^ On my first trip to Japan back in 2006, I ate at Kebab Box J in Harajuku. The Turkish guy behind the counter wanted to converse in English, but I stuck to my limited Japanese. XD

Turks are the largest ethnic minority in Germany, so when I was traveling around the country for seven weeks in 1992, I ate a LOT of döner kebap and lahmacun!

On a Japan trip some years back I stayed near Ueno, and in that area for some reason there really are kebab shops everywhere. I did also see one or two in Harajuku, but they were very prevalent in Ueno. I wonder if there's a Turk population center there.

Dog is home. :innocent: She still doesn't really want to eat for herself, so we're having to force feed her. She's not throwing any back up, though, so at least that's progress.
She was willing to eat a chicken snack, but only after she chewed it up and spat it out into smaller pieces. What a weirdo.
She's been mostly sleeping since she got home about 6 hours ago, lol. Overall, she looks better than she did when she went in!
They gave us some antibiotics, anti-nausea meds, Vetsulin, a big box of syringes, and 7 cans of prescription food. Everyone said she was a really sweet dog, so at least we did something right.

My dad is going in the morning to get a basal cell carcinoma removed. He'll probably be fine, but good vibes are always appreciated. I keep telling him his sunscreen isn't strong enough.

Definitely a better sunscreen - and he should probably be more careful about how much sun exposure he gets even with sunscreen. Basal should be OK, but it's best to be cautious!
I'm glad that your dog is doing better - I hope she gets her appetite back soon.
