My dog is having to stay at the vet for a couple days. She hasn't been eating a whole lot in the last couple weeks, and whatever she
does eat, she ends up throwing it back up later.
She got diagnosed w/ diabetes a few weeks ago, and her glucose hadn't been below 300 since then. The vet we
had been going to didn't seem concerned at all; just kept increasing her insulin dose and pushing different foods on us.
We finally took her to a vet that a family friend uses. It's a little far, but everyone was super nice and the vet actually seemed to know what he was talking about. Her white blood cells were elevated, so she's got a little infection of some kind going on.
Her BUN/creatinine were also elevated, so they described it as stage 1 renal failure. They have her on antibiotics, fluids, and ran a catheter. They also changed the brand of insulin, because apparently the stuff we've been using doesn't work very well in dogs!
They actually called around 5PM and said that her glucose is
below 300 and that they would try to get her to eat some wet food. She lost a considerable amount of weight in just over a month.

I bet that was a fun show! I listened to Jubilee on a whim and it's a pretty solid album.
I have a ticket for Rina Sawayama in Portland next April. I'm considering buying a ticket for Leon Bridges' Nashville show in May, but that's gonna depend on how much one costs.
