AHEM THIS IS A MUSIC SITE I'LL REMIND YOU
Therefore if you're going to post Sabine Hossenfelder you've got to post a music video.

Not her best song (probably "Theories of Everything") but definitely the best costume

Thanks for sharing that! Voyage wouldn't be out of place on a pirate movie soundtrack. A couple of the cuts had a bit of campiness that kind of reminded me of the background music to "A Series of Unfortunate Events." Liked the arpeggiated riff in Mr. Furn. I do like electronic music, and don't really have a criticism per se, except that regarding that particular genre (16-bit VG music??), sometimes I find the unrelenting sawtoothiness of it gets a little bit overwhelming if listening to it all at one go.

Finally going to get the first dose of the vaccine this Sunday. :) It’s been so hard to sign up for a time slot like trying to buy Taylor Swift tickets here. Like I’m going down to Alexandria, VA for my vaccine.

Might be going back to teaching in person at the end of the month.

Since I'm not going out except for emergencies, I'm waiting until the availability and wait times are better, but I definitely want to get vaccinated. I hope the in-person teaching goes well!

^^That warp drive video was actually the first time I'd heard of her, so everything about her is new to me - I'm sure that there is much to be in awe about!

It took me a long time, a lot of refreshing and some darn good luck but I was able to snag my mother a Covid shot yesterday. One of her friends is still having trouble getting one. It’s so hard. D:

I haven't even heard anything about my city administering vaccines yet. I think my dad signed us all up on some waitlist? Who knows.

I knew, intellectually, that I've done very little driving this winter. It was the one-two punch of the lockdown and an unusually cold winter, of course. (Cold, but not snowy; it tends to be either one or the other, due to how temperature and humidity work together.) But I finally had to buy gas this morning, and updating my mileage log really drove the point home: only 193 miles (310 km) since Christmas. I've been going out maybe once per week for mail, library, groceries, and drive-thru.

It's all the pain of being hikikomori with none of the pleasure, 'cuz I was already working from home when this began. No months-long, benefits-fueled orgy of TV and video games for me. I know it's not that that simple, and I know many people are genuinely struggling, but in a weird way I still feel cheated.
