I knew, intellectually, that I've done very little driving this winter. It was the one-two punch of the lockdown and an unusually cold winter, of course. (Cold, but not snowy; it tends to be either one or the other, due to how temperature and humidity work together.) But I finally had to buy gas this morning, and updating my mileage log really drove the point home: only 193 miles (310 km) since Christmas. I've been going out maybe once per week for mail, library, groceries, and drive-thru.
It's all the pain of being hikikomori with none of the pleasure, 'cuz I was already working from home when this began. No months-long, benefits-fueled orgy of TV and video games for me. I know it's not that that simple, and I know many people are genuinely struggling, but in a weird way I still feel cheated.
