- In today's episode, they finish the rest of the Kenshuusei Ability Test series, with the three remaining performers Yamada Ichigo (#16), Ishiguri Kanami (#17), and Hiromoto Ruri (#18).
- Kenshuusei Yamada Ichigo does not want to lose to anyone in dancing and aims to do her best to debut. This is her fourth year participating in the test. They flashback to her previous performances. Ichigo knows that she has very long legs and wants to make use of it in her dance. At home, she practices using a dance corset brace.
- Yamada Ichigo chose a difficult song "SHALL WE LOVE?" by Gomattou to challenge herself. In her room, she does singing lip rolls and various leg exercises. In addition, she likes to draw in her notes to use as image training and understand the lyrics in her own way. In one of her practice videos at home, you can see how tall she is.
- One week before, she practices her daily lip rolls in the studio. She knows she what she has to work on and will keep practicing. On dress rehearsal day, Yamada says she is 15 years old, but she has chosen to wear outfit with an image of a 17 year old girl to make her look mature-like. She has practiced a lot and did all she could to prepare. She knows being nervous is natural, but she will give it her all. On test day, she is smiling and looks forward it. Voice trainer Ueno-sensei praises her, saying she really has improved and did really well. Yamada is really glad to hear Ueno say that. She gets a little teary-eyed.
- Tsubaki Factory's new single "DanshaISM" and "Ima Nanji?" CMs play
- Ishiguri Kanami is finally next! This was her fourth time participating in the test. She wanted this fourth time to complete her circle. When she won Best Performance, she got 1013 votes out of 4384.
She started in 2016 with Hello! Pro Kenshuusei Hokkaido and came to Tokyo for lessons several times. They flashback to her previous performances. She constantly hoped of being selected in the Morning Musume audition for 15th gen and was shocked that she wasn't chosen. She tells herself to keep going one small step at time. She tears up because she is frustrated that other members were debuting before her.
The last two years, she came up short in winning Best Performance (Matsunaga Riai in 2019, Shimakura Rika in 2018). Every year, Ishiguri has been challenging only Morning Musume's songs. This year, she also picked a Morning Musume song, "Resonant Blue". She wants to show she can do even better than last year. One week before the test, she practices her song in the studio. She believes in herself and all that she has practiced. She chose resonant blue for the dance moves. On dress rehearsal day, Ishiguri picked a passionate red dress for the song, while wearing heels. Her goal is to end the day with a smile on her face after her performance.
Miyazaki Yuka knew right away that Ishiguri practiced a lot and put a lot of heart into it. After her near perfect performance, she finally won the best performance award! She was crying tears of joy and is really happy. Ishiguri had lots of fun and wants to gives her thanks to everyone.
Our last performer (#18) is Hiromoto Ruri, participating in her first test. They quickly recognize her as coming from the same school as Sayashi and Dambara, ASH. They show video of her practicing her baton twirling skill at home. Then flashback to earlier in the year, where Fukumura praises Ruri for being energetic and putting on a big smile.
Ruri picked the S/mileage song "Tachiagirl" because it has lyrics that encourages to do your best even you if aren't confident enough. At home and in the studio, she does her daily routine and practices her song to see where she is at. She will keep continuing to practice with more confidence and put on more pressure. Ruri chose a cute yellow outfit, since her favorite color is yellow. She actually drew her outfit on paper first, and then picked out the yellow fabric herself and asked her mother to help make her the skirt. She also made the ribbon. She was nervous in her rehersal run. Her family gave her words of encouragement and look forward to seeing her performance.
On test day, she practices backstage while trying to calm herself as well. As the last batter, she will try to make a big impact. Katsuta was impressed to see the S/mileage image in Ruri, while keeping a smile and staying energetic. With a big smile backstage, she had lots of fun.
The test series is complete. Next week starts off with new content. Kenshuusei begin their daily lessons for the September 2020 Recital. But instead, they will be receiving all of their dance and voice lessons from home through Zoom video call (with everyone or one-on-one), with the teachers in the studio.
Ending theme is Tsubaki Factory's new single "DanshaISM" MV
