It's snowing here.
I thought it might have been an early-morning flurry before the day warmed up, but nope, it has continued all morning and is now starting to accumulate.
This is a late snow even for Michigan.
For reference, the first snow of this season…
viewtopic.php?p=248128#p248128So I underestimated when I said "we're looking at a five-month winter, probably"…
viewtopic.php?p=248300#p248300Turned out to be five and a half months.
Pure Michigan.

This next bit is only for the Americans here.
If you've heard that other people already received their "Economic Impact Payments" and you're wondering where yours is, check your 2018 and 2019 tax returns. If you ended with an amount owed rather than a refund, you probably did not provide your Direct Deposit information to the IRS. And the IRS cannot determine your eligibility without that information, regardless of whether you meet the other requirements (e.g., residency, income limits).
The IRS has a portal that lets you check your current status…
https://www.irs.gov/coronavirus/economic-impact-payments…but it is still working on a portal that will let you update your information. Failing that, the IRS will have to physically print and mail a check to you, and that will happen some time between "months from now" and "never".

Finally, I've noticed that we're getting a
lot of guests/lurkers these days. 104 right now, as I type this. I'm sure many of those are spambots, but not all of them. So, to the rest of you, hello!
