Be careful what you wish for, because it might come true!
In spite of the lost income, I'm actually looking forward to my
government-imposed staycation. Whenever I've taken more than a day or two off from work, it has involved travel: seeing family and/or friends, going to conferences, or tourism abroad. Being able to sleep in to my heart's content and be my own master for three weeks will be incredibly strange to me. Not having to listen to my boss's voice for that long will be absolutely glorious.
Even though my day job is completely shut down, I do have
some paid work to do. I still have about 18 hours to go on a freelance indexing project that will pay about the same as the three weeks that I'm missing. But that hardly counts as "work" at all, especially since my deadline isn't until the end of the month.
