That reminds me of the recent news story about the guy who got killed by a casssowary - when birds get big enough, maybe it's a good idea to think of them as dinosaurs: "OK, it may not be a big dino, and it may not have any teeth, but it still has at least a bit of velociraptor lurking in its DNA..."

That cassowary story was all over the local news; they even mentioned that it's highly illegal to own them as pets.

Spoiler: show
Saw a new rheumatologist on Friday. She was pretty intelligent and super nice! I'm used to most of the doctors around here being just barely polite, so it was refreshing to have someone take time to listen and address my concerns. She ordered some x-rays and about 10 different lab tests, so those are gonna be fun. :thumbs-up:
My mom also had an appointment with her, and ever since she had her coma, she doesn't trust new doctors. She was about to have a panic attack just over a few questions on the new patient forms. But once the doc started talking to her, she felt at ease pretty quickly, and she also has lab work and x-rays to get done. She hasn't seen a rheumatologist since we left Tennessee, and it's pretty clear that not being on anything for her PsA is affecting her a lot worse than it originally was.

Saw a new pain management doctor yesterday. Nice guy. Even spent 10 years in Tennessee! I have to follow-up next month since I just got one thing refilled, but he did call me in cyclobenzaprine for me to take instead of baclofen.

And then today I saw the podiatrist for the same toenail that he cut part of off before Xmas. He clipped part of it, popped open a small abscess, and told me to do everything I did the first time. If it's worse by the time I see him again, he told me to bring sandals. :fear:

I'm going to be out of state from the 22nd to the 30th*, so I think I'm going to spend some time revising H!PS cards again and that'll be it for those. :geek:

*I'll have wifi and all that, but my tablet isn't equipped like my desktop is for certain design things, and I won't be hanging around on it that much.

It's a very good thing to have a doctor who's friendly and reassuring, and who listens!

The next time someone talks about the power of social media algorithms, please remember this: simply because I live in a university town, YouTube thinks I want to see ads for Bernie Sanders, Coachella, and Grammarly.

Interesting. Despite my proximity to Berkeley, I haven't seen any Coachella ads. YouTube does give me a heapin' helpin' of Grammarly ads, though.

All of my YouTube ads are usually cosmetics or hair products. Sometimes I'll see one for AdventHealth hospitals, and that's about as local as they get.
I wish I could eliminate the ads on the app version. I have uBlock Origin on my browser, so ads on the website aren't an issue.

Went to the golf course for breakfast this morning. It turns out that these two ducks are regulars there. The waitress said we could take them. :D The ducks didn’t get anything though just like us because construction workers broke a water line and there was no water thus no restaurant service until they fixed it. So, we left.

It's high because of taxes. We have to maintain our roads to protect all the shitty drivers. :fear:
