Watched the making on YT just now, and found out that each of the girls expressed what clothing they wanted to wear for Otona na no yo! to the stylist. Which basically means everyone is at fault for the mess of outfits on that front. I blame the person that decided that was a good idea.

Wow, I can't believe Risako herself chose to wear that Same with Yurina. And Maasa...

Makes sense that Momoko is dressing like usual Momoko, and of course Chinami would choose bright colors.

Expressed a style/idea, or something more specific? That makes a difference. At least half of the blame can still be placed on the stylists and costume designers for picking things out or putting them together if the girls only said things like "I want to look grown up~" or "I want to be colorful".

Miya really quickly mentioned it, and to me, the pronouns are too vague to make an exact translation. Roughly, "For the outfits this time, each of us told the stylists what we wanted to wear and the outfits were decided." I left that last bit in passive voice because IDK if it's supposed to be we decided, or the stylist decided, or what. [For those who might be better, the actual quote is, 今回の衣装なんですけど、それぞれが着たい衣装をスタイリストさんに伝えて、決めた衣装なんです。]

She did mention a little after that you get to see all the different Berryz, so I guess they were supposed to show how different each girl is. But it would have been better carried out if at least they chose similar colors or style somehow.

Risako mentioned in The Girls Live that she felt sorry for the stylist for always having go through the trouble to pick outfits because she always just says something like "Somethings like this~" and then the stylist goes to pick something out. And she realized when she was picking out for Cute, how hard it is and must be when she's so vague.

So most likely, they said something what they wanted to have/style/colors and the stylist picked it out. Or found suggestions or something. Probably different from each other - Miyabi probably wanted a bit more involved than, let's say, Maasa was.
