this is backwards. if anything, Juice=Juice being a new group gives them a boost. when groups debut in Hello! Project, people are already watching.. it's not like groups that are created for an independent agency that have to struggle to be followed by even 1000 people. and nowadays some of the H!P girls come with fans built-in due to them having come from kenshuusei. Tsunku also has a fresh concept to work with when a new group is created, and so presumably has more initial inspiration for their style/songs. and if what people have said is true, he has even favored J=J with the best songs (probably as a way to help their initial popularity).
S/mileage benefitted from this same debut boost, and it was only later that they settled into their lower and more constant sales numbers. Berryz experienced the same thing, a boost in sales due to the buzz of them debuting, and then leveling out about a year after their major debut. i'm not sure if ℃-ute experienced the same thing, i feel like their debut buzz was stretched out too long during their indies time, and so by the time of their major debut it had already fizzled out somewhat.
a year after their major debut, Juice=Juice will maybe level out again. i say maybe because HelloPro as a whole is experiencing a buzz boost right now, so J=J may experience a rise in sales even as their buzz levels out. or, best case scenario, a year from their major debut they go all ℃-ute on us and get really popular based on talent/appeal alone, supported by a rise in promotion and production level on UF's side.
