Sayumi has to graduate next, realistically. Everyone is fresh meat. Especially in MM world.

She has to? Not really. She's still popular among fans, she's still active on TV, she's still the only one that the public eye knows in relation to MM and she still pulls off being in the same group as a 14 year old. And most importantly, it seems like she really likes doing what she is right now.
Come this new year, 9ki has been in for 3 years already. In about a year, 10ki have been for 3 years as well.

Wouldn't be weird for any of them to graduate sometime soon (by which I mean announcing it within a year and graduating within two years). Obviously not everyone will, because some of the girls DO last longer. But to think that all 8 of them will stay around for 5+ years or something? Yeah, not gonna happen. Some will for sure, no doubt, but not all of them. One's bound to leave sooner or later.

Its always been more common for people to graduate before reaching 6 full years, unless they really love and are committed to group. I doubt any of them will announce their graduation soon, but once the 9ki/10ki starts their 5th year, I'll be watching for any signs for an upcoming graduation.

It seems like its a four year minimum before any of the girls can graduate. I expect these girls to last more than that. Haruna joined at an older age so logically she will graduate before any of the other new girls. I expect Sayumi for another year or more. I say at minimum during next years fall concert. (Spring will be 12th gens first concert so we don't entirely need a graduation)

I also believe that there will be no auditions unless a graduation happens. Say when Sayu leaves then we get an announcement of an audition. It's been that way so far at least. I have a feeling that 12th gen is going to be 3 or 4 girls. After that Morning Musume may seem a bit bloated. If 13 gen comes its best that it comes after Sayu leaves and its only one girl. I can deal with another 1-nin if there are more than 1 girl in 12th gen. After that no auditions until another girl leaves.

Since I feel Sayu may last even longer I think that the next audition won't be for a while after 12th gen. Maybe a Sayu-Haruna double graduation and then Mizuki becomes leader

Obviously just because its the logical assumption doesn't mean it's going to happen. I can't see any reasons for anyone graduating before her though. Unless MoMusu reaches Golden Era levels and RihoRiho graduates to pursue a solo career because she can. And then like a scandal or something happens with another member. Mizuki is found to be dating a guy from Johnnys... Zukki wants to go to college and be a normal girl... Satou found smoking... Etc

Riho said when she got in that she wants to become the leader of Morning Musume so I actually want her to stay around long enough for that to happen. After all, she's mature and responsible, and she's quite a well-rounded performer.

Right now, the only thing that would trigger a graduation in the near future is if Erina participates in an idol golf tournament and shoots a score on the course that would have placed her in the top three in a professional tournament, and Erina graduates to turn pro as a golfer.
