Dark hair Miya is the best.

But I think Risako's blonde hair would looks better when she styles it herself. Hp Stylists just usually make it look bad.

Not surprised. Every time the girls said "ii CHINA" in that promo clip, a dozen fans died.

So now that C-ute's PVs are out... how come their PVs are SO insanely superior to these half-baked, uber-simplistic PVs for Berryz? The double a-side excuse kind of doesn't work since C-ute got two rather good PVs and S/mileage got Yattaruchan. It's so unfair :/ Kanashiki Amefuri's budget alone was probably higher than Chinatown and Usotsuki combined.

^ I think Adam & Eve looks pretty simple and probably not expensive at all, but it's done effectively. Both of C-ute's PVs also got very nice lighting... I mean, compared to Sayonara Usotsuki, which has a weird color scheme... the various shades of blue with their (UGLY) red dresses and pink lipstick.

Golden Chinatown's PV is pretty decent, imo. Well, minus some of the solo shots (especially the dark ones). The group shots were very well done.

Wonder how much label has to do with this? If anything at all. Budget and production companies etc.

Either way. Berryz just don't get the good songs, they don't have enthusiastic members and it goes without saying that theirvideos would get the same treatment. Sayonara usotsuki no watashi wasn't much different from Aitaix3na really. Except for the outside solo shots? I think they were at a similar place and had the same formula... I love "Sayonara..." but the PV was awful. The dance is interesting enough but it's just... idk. Maybe the low quality of everything they get is bringing down their mood :b Idk. But the girls being better at what they do (enjoying, working the camera, enthusiasm enthusiasm enthusiasm) could be a start for improvement, who knows.

If they want to look better as a group, Maasa needs to lose some weight. She did it sucessfully before shooting her pb. Now she's just not motivated anymore. Chisato used to be chubby but got a lot better ever since became a front girl. She also lost weight for C-ute's new single(yeah if you are center you better look good). Chinami Maasa and Yurina also need to work on their dance. I rewatched berryz mansion concert last night. Sometimes it doesn't feel like they are dancing. Instead they are just moving their body parts along the music. Risako may be a lazy dancer but her whole body language is still much better. OK now expression. Only Risako and Miya know how to use their eyes to show proper expression during live. They should give lectures to rest of the girls.

Maasa's weight or whatever is hardly the reason Berryz come off as boring. If they want to look better as a group, they could start looking interested and put in some effort in their performances.

From what we could see of the making-of, Momoko was repeatedly being told to not smile. That has to play part in the whole bored look issue in Chinatown. Again, it hasn't been that long since cha cha SING and in that PV everyone seems to be having a blast, the girls didn't look unmotivated there (heck, they don't look unmotivated in that Succha ka Meccha ka "PV" for their album). Maasa's weight... I personally don't have issues with that and I think she looks good in both PVs, but I guess for the sake of the group's uniformity it'd be a good idea to go back to her 2009 self.

The thing with these PVs is that the concepts AND executions were very weak. Adam to Eve looks hardly over-expensive, but the direction is much better. The stage isn't an eyesore, the costumes aren't terrible, it looks good even if it's simple. Chinatown had so much potential for an interesting PV, and the costumes and dance are pretty awesome in my opinion, but it's pretty much a dance shot version with nothing else added - with an... ugly set to boot.
