^^^^I'm pretty sure Konkon said in her graduation announcement that she was surprised she was being told to graduate? Didn't Tsunku say he had higher hopes for her than what she fulfilled? Am I mis-remembering?

RE: Kanon's weight - Seriously you guys? We're doing this again? Even though she's lost weight? Because aside from Haruna, Kanon's made the biggest improvement in the group in terms of starting with ZERO singing or dancing experience and becoming a respectable talent at both. Cut the girl some slack. If we're gonna look for slacking members we should probably look at Masaki.

Sorry, I'm getting all theatre-talk in here. By 'commit' I don't mean that she's not consistent with that character. It's just kind of a half-hocked character. I mean, when Zukki was doing the monomane she was really making a complete ass of herself in the best way possible and people loved her for it. Haruna's great and sweet and we as fans see that, but pointing out a little blemish or talking about manga is not quite as risk taking as Sayumi's poison tongue or even Kanon's insect impersonations.

That was the official reason given, and she did go, but I seem to remember footage of her announcing her graduation, crying and saying she was surprised at first. It wasn't at a concert.

I don't know tbh lol. I'm just sure of that Eri graduated cause she wanted to get well, Junjun and Linlin were told to quit and Ai, Gaki and Reina decided to leave on their own. Even if Ai was asked to think of her own graduation, it's not like they forced her out of the group as she had it in mind anyway.

Well there's one graduation that was obviously a choice.

Those I would say are "obvious" choices: Asuka, (Mari, Miki lol), Eri, Aika (well >>), Ai, Risa, Reina.
The rest? Well some got solo careers and groups so who knows if they said "I wanna quit" and they created that career for them or not.

Last thought on Kanon's weight: can we not compare her to Nacchi? Nacchi had an eating disorder when she was in MM. I'd much rather Kanon be healthy but on the fuller side than have her follow Abe's footsteps.

Pretty sure Yuuko chose her graduation. IIRC she felt like she was holding the group back and felt out of place with all the kids around.
