Koharu didn't have the slightest hint of talent or stage presence. All she had is some great looks and a contagious smile. She was the less talented ace ever I think.
And comparing Riho to Maki:
Maki was a better singer even when she joined MM, but she didn't have much stage presence until she went her solo career, and it took a while...
Riho is already a better dancer than Maki ever was, and while I think Riho's singing is gonna get much better in the future, I don't think she can quite reach Maki's level.
Maki had a more engaging personality as well, and was very fun on variety (specially on Utaban, but to be fair, it was all the hosts doing...) While Riho is still shy on camera, she doesn't have as many opportunities though. On Kusanagi's show, though,when she ate the spicy food she was very confident. She may improve that on the future.
Riho right now, is a great choice as the ace, it was evident on all recent singles, even on Brainstorming, where she owns the perf.
She was born to be up there, on the stage.
