Koharu never really got lines though. But Riho is light years better than her anyway an honestly she really does deserve the center position. She's a stable singer an amazing dancer and probably had the most prescence of the newbies . Riho

She got enough. I think it was especially notable because she shared Morning Musume time with people who probably should've sang more. Keep in mind I'm also thinking of songs she sang at concerts. In general she sang quite a bit.
I don't think anyone thinks she shouldn't be the ace or the center. Also I think a few of the other girls, if given the opportunity would perform just as well.

I think it's a reality most Riho fans like me had already accepted. Many international fans will probably hate her forever for being chosen to be something they don't want her to be (being ace, being one of the lead singers, being the future face of the group...whichever it is, really). I don't think it will change even if it actually works out well for the group in the long run. Even if she gets fewer lines the next single, for as long as she gets placed in the center and gets featured prominently in the dance choreography and the MV, there'll always be reason for non-fans to hate (or at least, not like) her.

Honestly.....I don't really know how it started. Just chipped in after the last few posts or so. It's like this in every non-Japanese community site for Japanese idols. They always fight over Riho. Doesn't take much for it to start and before you know it, it's already eaten up a few pages or so.

Ironically it seems like the only thing we can agree on is fighting over Riho's singing. Like her singing affects the group's sales and current popularity.

Next thing we know, she's going to be blamed for MM not being invited to Music Station....even though they haven't been there for years.

When your in the spotlight more, you get more praise but you also get more criticism. It's natural. There's nothing much to criticize the back girls on (Except Haruna's dancing since we see it all the time, but she is getting better now) since we never hear them really, but Riho is in the front and there is a certain expectation there. On Mizuki - I think she's good much more than she is bad and, to be fair, I've not actually seen clips of Mizuki singing her Help Me! line so I can't comment on it. I've only heard Riho pull off the Help Me! line once and it was BARELY. BUT, honestly I'm not sure anyone else could have done it either? Masaki probably? Yeah, I'll say Masaki. It seems in her range. Reina, i the exception of course. I think Kanon might have been able too.

I don't really mind Riho being the ace, there's always an ace and it was obvious that's what Riho was going to be the minute she got in. She just has big shoes to fill - Takahashi, Maki, and Nacchi were all pretty stellar (And I say this as someone who is not a Nacchi fan) so people are watching her carefully.

Just as people love Riho because she is the ace - there are people that dislike her bc she is the ace.

HOWEVER - when we talk about singing potential, and being given lines left right and center without really being overly skilled (a la Koharu) - that isn't hating it's just judging the person being put out as better than everyone else. And I'm sorry - but Riho is not more talented than Masaki, Mizuki, or Haruka.

^Yeah I agree with that. I love Riho. I think she has a really refreshing personality and is a joy to watch dancing. She could be the center without getting all the lines though. shrugshrug.

I love her voice. Probably my favorite out of the group not including Reina.


Iv never had a favorite get so many lines so I'm really happy about line distribution right now

^zukki lacks control though. It is pretty easy to see why Riho is the ace, if she had better skills at talking she would practically be perfect.
