Despite a 1993 ban, Snopes.com (in an interestingly titled article) reports that people have continued to see vending machines selling used panties in Japan. I dunno. I certainly haven't seen them myself.

When I was on my first trip to Tokyo in 2006, I stumbled across a machine dispensing four-year-old Morning Musume。trading cards.

I always thought the used panties thing was a myth . Although apparently you can buy *clean* underwear in vending machines? Dunno how true that is.

^I tot so too about the used pantsu, just a myth. You can get new unused underwear tho.
I saw an episode of Japanology where they showed a machine for hot noodles.
The latest machines selling can drinks can even determine what you like based on demographics.
