Of course they are. A group of musical performers is a band. It's just sexism that boy bands are called "bands" and girl bands are called "groups."

But yeah, LoVendoЯ kinda sounds like one of the houses in a parody version of Harry Potter.

Anyway, my point is that it doesn't really work to judge a japanese group or band name by what would be acceptable in English. I mean UVERworld? Shakalabbits? An Cafe? Maximum The Hormone? Stereopony? Well, okay, Stereopony does sound fucking awesome even in English.
