Well today will be when the official weekly ranking and number from oricon comes out so I'll save my gushing for a bit later

The one comment from that person who said they lost total respect for the group because UF is forcing the group to resort to tactics of selling multiple singles, kind of makes me sputter. Seriously, did you expect them to roll up and die and continue on their curtain path of selling a few singles with nothing extra on them when you're getting steam rolled by other groups?

^ Hey the article was good! It's the comments that are the problem

Fans of <whatever group here> are always gonna think their group is superior. AKB fans will ignore AKB's HUGE amount of gimmicks to get their sales and H!P fans are quick to do the same. The problem is that some of those fans feel the need to say it's not OKAY for the other group to do gimmicks. It's so silly. It's all very very silly. Morning Musume and AKB both have a place in the music industry, it's not like the music industry is a finite space.

Now I'm just imagining some MC guy going: "There are only 30 chairs in the music industry, 15 of those chairs are taken by Avex artists, good luck."

Considering the state of the music industry, these gimmicks are the only thing keeping it afloat.

I'd love if American artists would do half the crap that the Japanese and Korean artists do to get their CDs sold.

I actually have a lot to say to my friends who one by one, ran away from Morning Musume fandom to some other places for all these years...
but now, I feel so glad to stay by MM's side for 11 years

I'm glad they made #1. And I think it's obvious to everybody who's been following Jpop with open eyes that they did it on their own merits. No matter what kind of "gimmicks" a group uses, it's only going to sell if there are enough people who like the group over the long run. Any promoter can inflate an act into a one-hit-wonder that disappears with the next single, but when an act has #1 singles across three decades, that's different.

Now that we have the no.1 weekly out of the way...

I'd like to comment about Momusu on Music Japan. In particular the talk part with the tomato quiz

Since I have not seen anyone comment on it, there was one part where the question was to identify which part of the tomato was the most delicious.
Both Momusu and Breakerz got it wrong. Here is the funny part, Sayu actually got it right but the she let the juniors decide the answer ( which they got wrong ) When the tomato guy gave the correct answer, Momusu girls realise leader was correct I think it was Fukuhime who said out loud Sayu got it right At which point Sayu turned around and told them "Next time listen to your leader" and they all went "Haiii" or something like that. That moment was so cute and funny.

I just wanted to share that. I find that bit the best part of the whole tomato episode
