Yeah, I love all of those. They can have "cool" songs that don't suck, like current Morning Musume (heck, like Heroine ni Narou ka!).

[2013.03.13] Asian Celebration (アジアン セレブレイション) <<< Where does this go?

They still have more genki singles XD And not only that, I'm putting very different stuff like Special Generation, Kokuhaku no Funsui Hiroba, VERY BEAUTY, Koi no Jubaku and WANT! in the same group for the sake of having only two categories. The point still stands, no one said "that sounds like Berryz" when we got WANT! or Aa, Yo ga Akeru, and their most successful singles (that is important) belong to the first group. Jingisukan, Otakebi, Tsukiatteru, Yuke Yuke Monkey Dance, cha cha SING, etc.

I understand no group can 100% stick to one style and you won't find one single post of me (if Jpop Music still existed at least XD ) complaining about any of their non-crazy singles, but again, WANT! is no Munasawagi Scarlet by a very long shot.

I'd actually put Seishun Bus Guide (with it's more serious Tone) and Watashi no Mirai no Dana-sama in the serious catagory. Both of them have serious tones to them.

Berryz most successful singles are covers which I think on it's own it problematic (If we aren't counting the double A-sides). Like I said, I don't want Berryz Sound to be "Crazy singles from other countries" WANT! sold decently enough to make me not worry about that too much, and I think Asian Celebration kind of hits that Mature but Fun sound that they need.

I find it interesting that you separate the anime singles from the "cool" half. They're much closer to stuff like Ai no Dangan and Dakishimete Dakishimete then Fighting Pose or Piriri to Yukou.

Really Berryz doesn't have a sound or a genre imo. They are very eclectic even amongst Tsunku's crazy genre mixing and matching style which is really saying something. Their songs can sound like anything really.

Jingisukan is their most successful single, yes, but songs like Tsukiatteru and Yuke Yuke Monkey Dance sold more than cha cha SING. There's clearly a pattern there in my opinion.

And I'm puzzled about Asian Celebration, I don't know how it will perform. It's clearly not similar to WANT!, but it's also no cha cha SING, I'm inclined to think it'll do better than WANT!.

I wouldn't group songs about a bunch of male kids having a crush on a bus guide and wanting to be born again as microphones while flying on space buses with Ai no Dangan at all. Plus there's VERY BEAUTY and Kokuhaku as "cool" songs, it's pretty difficult to group them in two sides

Bus Guide has a more serious sound, which is what I think Ayu means. The lyrics might be a bit silly but the sound is still serious.

Even sound wise I feel it's right at home along with stuff like MADAYADE and Otakebi since it's rather funky and upbeat, but in any case it could switch places with VERY BEAUTY which I'm not sure why I placed in the second group.

Which would make VERY BEAUTY in the same category as Piriri? I would not agree with that lol. Berryz has more than three categories: Funny/energetic, funky and serious. Maybe even the serious category could be split into two or one could make that "serious/cool".

And funky is where I would put this single. Which isn't a bad thing at all. There are good/bad funky just as there is good/bad serious etc for everyone. Personally I absolutely love this song.

Agreed that having only two categories is simply not accurate. And again, I'm not hating this song  And with a proper radio rip I'm sure I'll like it better.

Besides if the PV outfits are monkeys or baby chicks all of Rm's complaining would be for naught. :P :flowers:

They appear to be zebra-themed, that's close enough

Funny that you people aren't talking about the dance, it seems incredibly simple, which is understandable since it's a "party" song. I personally tend to like simple dancing better like cha cha SING or Maji Bomber.
