My dissection of WANT!, by now I've listened to it a ton and I think this is my final opinion:
Intro: This is amazing. Seriously, the instrumental is superb.
Chorus: It's okay. Not very strong and a bit repetitive, but the song is just starting.
I I I WANT IT: Ugh. I'll remove this with Audacity.
Verses: No, not very good. This is way too repetitive and not catchy at all. It's slow and unremarkable.
Chorus: Yeah, well. It's not awful I guess.
I I I WANT IT: No.
Verses: Here we go again. Gosh, repetitive is not enough to describe it. Momo and Yurina goodness, though
Chorus:
Instrumental break: Yes. Yes, this is good.
Chorus: Just end already, honestly.
Ending: The I WANT IT parts ruining the instrumental. Will also remove with Aduacity.
6/10 - Would be an okay b-side.
What I'd do to improve it? The verses are abysmal, they need to be shorter and more memorable. The chorus needs to go somewhere, it's very plain and it has no "high point", the first time I listened to the song I thought they were the verses actually. For the kind of song it is it's rather slow, I made it a bit faster and it automatically sounded much better. It also should end right after the instrumental break. And no cheesy I I I WANT IT parts, yeah. I just feel this song is deliberately tame and K-Pop-ish and it just failed to resonate with me. Again - it feels incredibly watered down compared to Help Me, Wakuteka and One Two Three which are also recent "cool" H!P songs.
