[1/23] Morning Musume's 52nd Single "Help me!!"

Ther's something about the background CGI that reminds me soooo much of old Wink PVs -- but that kind of works, for the same reasons that it worked for Wink: it's part of what they are now, in a "take it or leave it but you're going to have to deal with it" kind of way.

I'll wait for sohee's translations but incidentally, that's also what part of the lyrics are about. That they're tired of waiting around doing nothing, getting ignored and taken for granted. Now they're asking their fans to follow them and keep giving them their support as they spread their wings and fly away to a new glory. And for those tardy ones at the back hesitating, well, don't regret it later lol!
That's how Sayu and Fukuhime describes it during the title announcement too iirc

I just came home from a rally really BIG party and i'm REALLY mazed by the dance shot I'll wait till tomorrow to judge it because right now I'm O___O

Some hot choreography. It's the current vibe meets Ambitious. Missed seeing bits of the actual PV. Wish the choreography left Sakura in a better position during her solo... or anywhere but the back during the rest.

The first time since she joined that I felt like Riho was deserving of the center position. She was working the hell out of that dance. Oddly enough I kept losing track of Ayumi. But only because I was watching Haruna being not awful and awkward.

THIS DANCE IS FRIGGEN CRAZY. in a good way. ONLY HelloPro would attempt something like this.. even though it has parts that are a bit awkward, i'm totally in love.

best parts:
- the low-to-the-ground pointing-across-the-horizon move (right when the song starts, after the spoken lines)
- the "8" figure they draw with their arms in a staggered formation
- the way slow way they snap to the beat during the verses (if you watched it i'm sure you know what i mean)
- the way they snap their heads/bodies during the instrumental dancy parts
- the very last "wing" formation that makes a V (with Riho and later Mizuki in the center), it looks so majestic that i feel like a light should descend from the skies and a chorus starts singing for them
- the synchronization

parts i think need improvement:
- the chorus has SO MUCH potential for having some craziness going on.. i wish there was more movement. they could even keep the wings part if they didn't hold it for as long only do it during the extended lines.. but for the fast parts of the chorus it woulda been cool for them to do more with it.
- the dance break also ended up a bit slower than i would have liked, although granted this time the dance break has the talking bits in it so maybe it wouldn't have gone so well.. but still, H!P rarely delivers on dance breaks. so i'm always on the lookout.
- the parts where Sakura gets her lines and the others are doing like a IーI shape with their arms i think looks a little awkward. it didn't really need to be that different except maybe the arms be less angled?
- the part where Haruna and Eripon do the leg extension is a little odd. i kinda like it at the same time, but i think maybe if they just didn't extend so far.. they did it well, though, i think both girls look like they're on the same page with is great for Haruna. still, i like what's going on in the center with Mizuki, Riho and Reina better~

i could probably add about 5 other things to both lists so i'll stop here for now. x3 i'll go back to obsessing over it tomorrow~

I can't stop watching the video. Both the dance and song are great Wow, it's just as good as the last three singles and possibly better than some of them

Love everything about it. The dance, the CG cityscape. I was just left breathless when I first saw it. Just AWESOME!

I can't say it enough.. I LOVE THE GRAPHICS

It doesn't look out of place at all.

I didn't expect the dance to be this good. I big jump forward from Wakuteka. This makes me suspecious of Tsunku's intentions

Firstly, I didn't think Momusu would seriously consider to be dance oriented, so I tot they would just be comfortable at Wakuteka's level. But Help Me! showed me otherwise.

This might me far fetched, but its just collections of my thoughts coming together to this point in time.

A year ago, Sengoku kinda put out a challenge to the "Gods" who were residing in H!P. UUG have been building up steam since then.

Now with Help Me!, I can't deny feeling that Momusu ( Tsunku's plan all along ) is responding to the threat.

Coincidentally, Up Up Girls just announce last week they are going to have a tour around selected cities. In each city they will challenge a idol group from that city.

Each challenger from the cities have been identified except Tokyo. Tokyo's idol group is listed as a secret, a surprise.

We just have to wait and see it the Tokyo challenger is going to be Morning Musume.

Omg I absolutely love everything about this single. That dance! It's just as awesome as the dances we've seen since Renai Hunter. The CGI is incredible. It looks great and matches the song. I am one who loved the outfits from the moment I saw them. They beat wakuteka by miles and by my personal preference they are better than one two three. They look great against the PV background as well. This sharply contrasts S/mileage who has been having a problem coordinating outfits to background the past two singles or so. I'm in love with this song. I've liked all the colorful era singles but one two three has been overplayed and wakuteka runs a little long. The last song I was absolutely head over heals with was Renai Hunter whose song isn't just amazing the PV and outfits were great too. This single is turning out to be just as good. Might take the second spot under Renai Hunter for me.
