they could do more than that, their dance relied mostly on formation/interaction rather than doing some more impressive or complicated moves.
but either way, no matter how well they did or if their dance was better it would have been the expected outcome for the little girls to win. it's kind of implied in the older-pros-take-on-little-girl-amateurs that the audience wants the little girls to win (it might even have been scripted to happen that way). imagine how mean it would have seemed for the judges to give it to the idols who have been doing this for 8+ years and make the little girls sad.

plus, the little girls were actually pretty impressive. and it's win-win because we got some awesome Airi/Captain center that we've never seen before.. that reminded me why loving idols is so awesome.
