Also, facing its 15th anniversary this year, Morning Musume has turned toward more aggressive sales promotion measures like handshake events and female-exclusive events on their single release date.

After the initial impact of their 50th single One Two Three/The Matenrou Show passing the 100k mark, they're starting to regain their old deeply-rooted popularity. Other Hello Project groups such as Berryz Koubou, C-ute and S/mileage has been gaining supports from female and teenager demographic too.

With idol groups rising to prominence one after another the number of female and/or young idol fans are also increasing. If they can reach out to these new fans it's very likely they'll be able to keep increasing their popularity.
