This has been discussed here so many times before, but the reason that bikini PVs are often considered more low-brow than bikini PBs is the dancing aspect (bouncing), paired I think partially with the fact that the PV is a promotion for a song the music group is releasing, whereas the PB is just something that select girls throw out on the side (for money, but not necessarily in full conjunction with the music side of things).
That said when it comes to older idols (18+) if they choose to wear "revealing" clothing that's up to them and we shouldn't judge them for it.

I don't follow your logic. If we're bringing legal adulthood into the conversation, then shouldn't the girls that are of age and thus legally able to make their own decisions about what they want to showcase themselves as, be the ones that have left themselves open to being judged? Whereas the younger idols have had their rights signed over by their parents to be managed by a corporation that's looking to make money. It's the company to be judged there, not the 12 year-old in a bikini.

Also...
if I remember rightly the girls choose there own swimwear for the Hawaii tours.

I hate rumor-mill stuff being thrown around. Look at the credits for the Alo-Hellos, read the liner notes of the PBs. They have stylists and hair/makeup people.

Wow, I'm really glad I missed that "slut" post, otherwise my response to it wouldn't have been very nice.

i hate it when people bring up Genki Pikappika when people say Momusu don't do bikini PV's. Genki Pikappika was not a PV, it was footage from their Alo-Hello DVD, they happened to decide to shoot them singing/dancing to the song. it was not released as a PV, it was not included on DVD footage of any singles, albums, Single V's or Event V's. it was not promoted in any way. it was basically bonus material for fans, so no more a PV than bonus concert performances are a PV.

that being said, there's nothing wrong with bikinis. some of us just happen not to like the idea of the main association or image of the girls being presented as them in bikinis. Momusu do their fair share of swimsuits in PB's and some of us may not even like that (though i think it's not that many people), but what we DO like is that this side is something that is not presented as the main way to promote them. you would never see a Momusu billboard in a train station featuring them in bikinis, it's just not their image, and a lot of us fans appreciate that.

other groups can be promoted that way and i won't buy their music REGARDLESS of whether or not they're wearing bikinis on the cover (though for some it may be a problem, i recall that's why some people on the forum tend not to buy PB's even if they're HelloPro). i won't buy because i'm not a fan, not because they're wearing swimsuits. if i were a fan, i'd probably care even less and just get used to the fact that that's what they do.

Meimi somehow manages to look like a child next to two very young girls. i don't think she fits in with them. i may be biased because Riho and Ayumi are high on my ranking, but i'd rather it was just them two. XD

she can def look cute (especially in that picture, not so much the others), but she still looks like 3-5 years younger than the other two lol. she just doesn't fit with the others.. XD split that photo into two pages and put some text between them it would be much better!

It's amazing how thin of a face Meimi has, and yet it still manages to look cute and chubby. Gnaw, she's so adorable.
