I think you all are reading way too much into Soonk's remark. It was meant to hype up Sakura by comparing her to two of H!P's most legendary singers. He didn't have the purpose in mind of saying, these two are our best of all time, and everybody else is 2nd tier.

The video is down and I don't remember exactly what he said. But he did say that she's at the same level of Ayaya and Aichan - and that she could definitely end up in the top3 of H!P singers.

Ayaya and Aichan are two crazy talented vocalists. No matter how much you like or dislike their voice the fact that they are great singers doesn't change. Doesn't mean that the rest of the girls suck - but if they were to rank them, they would be in that order and due to the volume and the technique that Sakura already has when she's only 13/14 years old, it's only natural to think that she'll get even better from now on.

Yup, if I were to do a vocal ranking of the girls in MM purely based on skill and not on bias, Sakura would be #1.

But I feel like Airi is pretty legendary. She's basically the ace of H!P outside of MM. Now, I know MM is the flagship group of H!P and that matters (a lot) but still... No one else can claim debuting at 9 years old, she's the de facto center of C-ute, and alongside Momoko and Miyabi the only one in a legitimate unit (I'm not going to count the Satoyama units until they get actual releases and even then I'm only going to count them as special units unless they continuously release songs).

Yeah. Airi's voice is a bit more... flat? than Ai's. Like, it's less versatile or something. I can't really describe it.

Hey, I like Airi's voice. But I wouldn't put her up there with THE BEST H!P SINGERS EVAH.

^No one is saying that Airi is bad though. But if Ayaya and Aichan would still be a part of H!P she wouldn't be higher than them in terms of ranking. As it is right now, of course Airi is better than Sakura. Airi has more experience and is also older. But the potential Sakura shows is actually way bigger than Airi's.
Again doesn't mean Airi is bad by any means - I love the girl, she's amazing - it just means that Sakura is that good.
