You know recently that blog came out where Zukki said she has always worn a ponytail and that she was trying to be creative with it. Guess that ends the whole Zukki isn't allowed to wear her hair down thing. People were suggesting that she wasn't allowed to have her hair down because of Sayumi Senpai! I still think it looks better for the shape of her face when she wears it down though.

^ well, that could still be true. it's not exactly that she's not allowed to have her hair down EVER (unless perhaps she got advice to stick to a certain type of hair to be more recognizable), but juniors are expected to wear their hair differently from their seniors. right now it shouldn't be too hard since only Reina and Sayu have seniority (they get to style their hair worrying about it being too similar to other members), and it's pretty much impossible for any of them to end up looking too much like Reina. so i don't see why Zukki couldn't wear her hair down, for example, when Sayu is wearing pigtails.

as for make-up.. i think it's a combination of things that go into why the girls look "hotter" after they leave Momusu. the most prominent one to me would be this: they're idols, their make-up has to reflect a kind of sweet pureness. wearing too much make-up, make-up that's darker (like eyeshadow), or edgier make-up (cat eye) would not go with their image as idols, so they can't do that even if it would make them look "hotter" (think kpop).

and since they're not professionals, they have to do the best they can with what they are allowed.. some of them do better than others, just like regular people. if the conspiracy lies anywhere it's in hair.. there's no excuse for some of the ghastly hairstyles they have used for past covers/PV's/concert promo. they seem to value diversity/trying new things over actually looking appealing sometimes.

No girl has ever had straight down AWFUL hair in a concert, as far as I can remember. But only in PVs or for CD covers or whatever, and that's when they have stylists. lol.
Aika always looked better in concert than on covers or whatever.

i didn't mean DURING concert though, i meant for concert promo, like the merchandise/posters etc.
there's definitely been some bad hair in those.

Holy Crap, Haruna - your Q&A has made me love you even more. She likes "The Green Mile", "Harry Potter", and "Maison Ikkoku". She wants to try working in a book store, do a mowhawk hairstyle, and she eats ice. Love all of that. Feels like I'd have a blast hanging out with this girl.
