OK -- I just watched the full video clip. I'd still vote for all of them -- and overall, I'm quite impressed.

When Sakura is just talking, she looks so much like a (much younger version of) a woman I know (an L.A. area Japanese-American poet/performer/activist) that it's kind of spooky...

Sorry about that. I actually wanted to say Maria have front girl material/quality. Might have got carried away - I really like her
Anyways, Maria must have something along those lines you pointed out for Tsunku to even consider her gaining that position

She's got ballet experience, that is a good sign. Did this come up during this episode?

Yeah, the voice over person told a little about every girl and then she mentioned ballet when it was Maria. Though that's the only experience she has, so she's basically a newbie to everything just like Yumeno.

It'll be nice to have a member with a distinct dialect since the 6th gen(?) i think. Early on Aichan used to talk with a fukui-ben iirc and Reina still breaks out her hakata-ben sometimes. Yumeno is from kansai if i heard right and having a kansai-ben speaking musume could be interesting

Sometimes? Reina is Hakata 24/7. Obviously not to 100% but she definitely has it whenever she speaks. She even blogs in it. When with 9ki and 10ki Erina does the same ahaha.

It would be nice to have another Kansai girl. Aika didn't lose her accent, but she did adapt quite a bit. Though I think it's close to impossible for someone from Osaka to fix their intonation of words, which is something I loved so much about Aika's speaking, so even if she would use more basic Japanese, the different intonation would still be there no matter what. I don't know if it's something other foreign fans pick up though.. might be difficult if you don't speak the language. I find it charming, either way, so it would be nice to have more dialects.

Same here, though i'm only familiar with the more common ones. I love kyoto dialect the best

Oh right Aika speaks with a bit of an accent too. Somehow my brain just skipped over her all the time haven't heard Erina speaks with a dialect though

I noticed it earlier, but it became even more noticeable when she started reading the senryuu corners in the H!P concerts. I love kansai intonation of words, sounds so warm. <3

Erina does though! But not when around senpai members, in 9ki and 10ki things she does quite a lot. Especially if the camera catches her being "off". :3
