I have a counter-theory about the 11th gen:
4 loli, only one can sing worth a damn, and only one can dance. Somebody who most of the the fans liked won't get in, and everybody -- here, 2ch, H!O, wherever -- will spend the next few months fighting about the ones who did.
I also predict that birds will chirp, cats will meow, dogs will bark, and bunny rabbits will multiply.

This is so true it hurts.

I agree Lolita is an amazing book, very well written, but anyone who has read the book would never everevereverever call any child Lolita.

I have to agree on both counts. I'm just so used to hearing it/seeing it that I take the term almost for granted after a while. (And I have friends who are heavily into Lolita fashions, and who are also strongly opposed to that kind of fetishization, so I generally hear the term used strictly in the context of fashion -- but then again, the world of fetishism is just about half a step away from the world of fashion as it is. )

Lolita makes me think of fashion but loli takes me in the other direction.

"Lollies" makes me think of half-finished lollipops stuck to the arm an overstuffed sofa so hard that they take some of the fuzzy stuff from the upholstery with them when you finally manage to pull them off.
