Whatever, Tsunku also called Kusumi a miracle  His credibility is shot with me :whistling:

Aichan, Eri, and Makoto dance circles around Riho and Ayumi.

I think that's just style. Yeah, I think that's what it was. It feels like this video wasn't meant to be shown to the public in the first place and if that's true, then Tsunku got one over them by showing them their rehearsal "outfits." :fear:

I'm pretty sure that Tsunku was misquoted on that statement. I think he called Koha a "miracle" because it was a miracle that she was the sole winner of the second 7th gen audition after no one won the first. People just associated "miracle" to mean "ace".

"Miracle" and "ace" are such bogus marketing terms anyway. And after all, if you go back to Morning Musume's origins, they did start out as a pack of deuces who (so the story goes) tried harder and made the grade.
I'd rather have that than aces, miracles, or Jpop messiahs -- it's a lot easier to count on people who know they have to try herder and are willing to do it than on people who are supposed to be able to walk on water without getting their feet wet. :mikihead:

I agree kind of. I think Tsunku called Eri the best dancer when she was in the group with Ai. Sometimes he just praises things the girls are good at when he doesn't have anything else to compliment, or that how it comes across to me.

I don't necessarily think that as a group the Colorful Era is better than Platinum but I think they do have better choreography. That said I think if the Platinum girls had to dance to this or OTT they'd step up and do well. Ai, Risa, Eri, JunJun, and Aika when she was capable were all fine dancers which is an understatement for the first three girls. Risa was especially energetic as well.

I can't help but call this single WakoTaco Take a Chance.

Bogus, yes. But wotas still buy it. Miracles, aces, "exchange student", "wild card", center position. I don't know when those terms started; I don't remember Abe Natsumi or Goto Maki ever being called "ace" but that's what people associate them nowadays. Heck, flame wars even start because of those terms. It was one of the things that shocked me after I ended my H!P semi-hiatus in 2010.

I personally don't take much stock on those terms: a member becomes a lead girl because the producer likes her there. Just so happens my favorite MM girl usually ends up being one of the lead girls. But I'm what wotas call a "DD" anyway. At the end of the day I love the body with all its different parts.

Oops....I think I put this thread terribly off-topic. My apologies.

Koharu spammed the "Miracle" title a lot, so it wasn't just a Tsunku misunderstanding.

And, besides, Koharu is a miracle girl. How else do you explain her selling all those Kirarin solo records without being able to competently sing or dance?

Could emo-musume have handled the WTAC dance? Good question. I think that they could have if Tsunku had the same system of individual instructors in place at the time.

And, don't worry about off-topic-ness. Just so long as it has something tangential to do with the subject you'll be fine.

This. I love this lineup and I love the girls and they're really talented in various ways. But if the girls of the Platinum Era would do Renai Hunter, 123, or Wakuteka? It would be tons better.
Because they all had their own style, they were all good dancers (some better, some worse) and had done this for at least 3-4 years. Their dancers from back then weren't too easy either, we heard them talk both once and twice about how ridiculously detailed they were. Even if they looked simple and boring it was apparently the small details that made the dances difficult to learn, if one's to believe what Aichan said.
I really would love to see Platinum era do these songs, even if just for comparison. Not that it'll ever happen but still ):

The dance I would love to see Platinum era dance is The Matenrou Show.
Its my dream to see a performance of it by all of Hello!Project members actually.

The 9th and 10th gen just need time to grow into themselves. The platinum era could have totally been able to handle the recent singles, but that's because they had a lot of experience. I loved the platinum era but I am glad things are as they are now. I want to see the new girls grow and develop and overtime add more personality to their dancing. Seeing girls who are already perfect and never grow can become boring. In two to four years we will see a much more polished group.

Platinum Era wasn't even that good, this one is so much better.
