^^^ The big head is all about the focal length. When you take a picture with a short focal length lens, it makes your head and its various components look huge and distorted. If your camera has an optical zoom, the best distance for portrait photography is 70mm (equivalent) or more. That's why when you go to a professional portrait studio, the photographer doesn't put the camera all up in your face like you normally do with a point and shoot. They stand some meters back, and use a telephoto lens. See here for an illustration of what I'm referring to.

The flip side to that is that if you take a tight shot with a short lens, you can achieve the so-called Magibon effect, where the eyes are super-magnified comparison to the rest of the face, even. It winds up looking attractive because it achieves a sort of neotenized quality, that is, infantilized physical characteristics.

I agree, the short hair is working for her. If someone told me that first picture with beer was Aichan I wouldn't even think twice about it.

Ayu, speaking of Ella, she already did Hana-Kimi, actually before the first Japanese live action, I think. I agree with N-K that JJ would do great in a Chinese version of You're Beautiful/Ikemen desune. How about a drama where they're sisters posing as brothers? A reverse "White Chicks" kinda?
