It does sound kinda AKBish
YAY POSTER.
Also tl'dr rant:
UFA did a good job with promoting One Two Three and they should be pretty proud of the success. I hear a lot of naysayers say it was just wota buying more copies because of all the cool stuff, and I've heard overly optimistic people say it was all new fans because the song was good. I think it was actually somewhere in between those two things. EVEN if it was just wota buying more copies, the fact that it looked like more people were getting into Morning Musume was a much needed shot of adrenaline to the Group AND to the fandom. Regardless of who was buying, over 100k shows the public Morning Musume wasn't dead - which they DESPERATELY needed.
HOWEVER, the group still has a long way to go and now isn't the time to get cocky. Just because Morning Musume was shown to be not dead it doesn't mean the public doesn't see them as limping along. They are getting on more television shows and more magazines, but it's slow. This single needs just as much, if not more, promotion than One Two Three, which may be easier to do now that OTT was a proven success. We're gonna need those gimmicky handshake events that a lot of fans seem to hate (I personally love them, makes MM seem more accessible) and more release events. The song needs to be just as good, if not better, than One Two Three and The Matenrou Show. The public does not want another Pyoko Pyoko Ultra and seems to really like this new "Dance Musume" thing so I feel like that's the direction the song needs to go in. Hopefully, it's just the right amount of mature and fun like One Two Three was. I don't want it to sound exactly like One Two Three (Like Nanchatte was the successor to SYO) but the Techno groove was pretty stellar. I'm kinda hoping for a mix of Renai Hunter and OTT, that would be sweet, BUT as long as it doesn't sound like Pyoko Pyoko I'll be happy.
I know people hate when others bring up line distribution, as it sucks for Morning Musume, but the Lines in One Two Three were actually okay. Yes, Reina and Riho got a TON of lines, but the girls in general were all singing - whether it was in Duo's or their one little solo line. I'm not even mad at One Two Three or it's line distribution. I want to see a continuation of that into this single. The reason why better line distribution is needed is simple really, it shows off each girl. I really think it's better for business if each girl gets a small line or a lot of duo lines. Why? Because fans will get attached to all the girls, not just Riho and Reina. This is EXCELLENT for business. People will buy more goods, go to more concerts, and buy more singles if they enjoy all the girls, not just one. If the line distribution was, say, like The Matenrou Show, well casual fans will only pay attention to the two girls singing. Because that's how it works, you look at who's lips are moving if you don't know each individual. Because of that casual fans may not enjoy the look of Reina or Riho and move on, since they don't see any other girls' lips really moving they don't feel the need to pay attention. People look to see who is singing, and one of the OTHER girls may appeal. Now I'm not asking for "fair" line distribution where everyone gets equal time, like I said, One Two Three was fine. HOWEVER, The Matenrou Show was horrible, there's NO APPEAL in two girls + back up dancers. None. Want more business? Give the other girls a bone.
That's my rant. I'm just mostly worried we're gonna go from the awesome high of OTT to something the complete opposite of that (Read: Lame). Give us a hint Tsunku!
