Actually I disagree, the new girls aren't as cute, funny,talented or likeable as the originals imho. (well takechan is an excellent dancer, I'll give her that)
Also, the almost perfect chemistry that existed on the original s/mileage is lost now.
The thing about the original s/mileage is that we saw them "born" and struggle together, and they were trained for several years and developed those bonds and that chemistry in that lapse. They were a blast on talk shows, and were very enjoyable to watch, they were excellent performers as well. (And Yuukarin's looks were/are still unmatched)
I have hope in the current s/mileage though, I was pretty disappointed in their recent singles, but Suki yo, Junjou Hankouki has given me hope back.
