Tsunku says that when he checks the VTR screen who goes "Ho~" "Whaa" "Amaz..." yet at the same time he needs to make sure the girls auditions will get along with the current line-up.

He also mentions there's a lot of character this time around and it's really great.

if this momentum can continue through Round 3 and then training camp, Morning Musume will become admirable and i want them to shine not just through Japan, but through out the world as a member of the team.

Round 3 is training camp? That's different. In the past, Round 3 was calling the regional finalists to Tokyo, so that Tsunku and the rest of the management could see them in person. It was the winners of Round 3 who went to training camp.

Of course I'll defer to the more fluent among us, but the way I'd translate that is "If this energy/spirit continues from Round 3 to the training camp…" The way he uses the arrow seems to distinguish between the two.

Do you guys think that since idols are back to being a popular thing in Japan that there are more girls and more talented girls auditioning? I mean I remember Tsunku in 3 auditions getting Koharu and Aika. Now he's talking about all these talented girls.

Absolutely. Simply becoming an idol is no longer as stigmatic as it was a few years ago.

And when the truly talented girls say to themselves "Okay, if I'm going to become an idol anyhow, then which company should I try to join?", we can hope they're drawn to H!P. Quality and tradition versus quantity and fan service.
