Celedam wrote:The difference is eight minutes of intro giving the backstory/theme of the special (i.e., Nakai and the other regulars are pathetically out of shape) and listing everyone on the three teams. There's nothing more after what's in the YouTube video that has already been posted.

There appear to be many games, however, so this probably will be spread out over several episodes like the last MM appearance was.

The best part of the first eight minutes was when they were introducing the members and off in one of the corner bubbles Nakai said "Where's Suzuki?" But that was all of 2 seconds. It's nice knowing that of any of the MM. member's the one Nakai took a liking to Suzuki the most.

Also, Iwao rocking a Risako shirt is pretty hilarious. They had the mandatory who's cuter, Momoko or Sayu debate and Iwao said that it's not like it's really a battle between the tops in H!P, but that they're the middle of the middle.

Sayu also says that just because she's the cutest doesn't mean she has to be the most popular. She said she's the fourth most popular overall. So who did she put in front of her? Reina, Riho, ???.

Also, the show captions said off to the side that Sayu is "strong" as in doesn't back down to Momoko like most people do. Additionally, Fuku-chan said her two favorite senpai are Momoko and Sayu and can't decide between the two. Haruka said her favorite is Reina who is cuter than both Momoko and Sayu.

Finally +1012989431234358798790 points to Fuku-chan for totally being into Yurushite Nyan Taiso <3

Partial answer:

鞘 SHŌ, saya: (sword) sheath, case, cap; margin, difference, brokerage; spread; (bean) shells.
師 SHI: teacher, master; exemplary person; army; war.
里 RI: village; a Japanese league, 2.44 miles; sato: village, hamlet, the country; parents' home.
保 HO, HŌ, ho(suru): guarantee; tamo(tsu): keep, preserve, hold, retain, maintain....

Of course, that doesn't mean it's an accurate translation! XD

^ Just to concur with Teh Laz.

I would guess the family name Sayashi means something like "scabbard artist."

Given names in Japanese, like everywhere else, can be based on actual words (like "Hitomi") or can be descriptive ("Daiichi") but also like everywhere else, often a given name is adopted (or adapted) mainly based on how pretty or handsome it sounds, with disregard of the meaning. Like, for example, the name Joseph means "God will increase" and the suffix "ette" is a diminuitive, but that doesn't mean that Josette means "God will increase...a little bit." It doesn't really HAVE a "meaning," it's just a feminine name based on Joseph. Similarly, with a very common girl's like Risa which has a lot of kanji variants, it's best to think of the kanji as used- just a way to construct the sound of the name, and the meaning, if any, is kind of incidental to the name. 里 is a pretty standard kanji for the "Ri" sound (see Risa) but not the only one. See all some of the variants for Risa here.
