Looking good is part of being an idol, so she's not being as shallow as you think. I think my favorites are prettier/cuter than the rest, even if the cuteness may also stem from other things like how they act.

Looking good is important, but looking approachable is just as important. Wotas do not want idols to be super models because then there would be no reason why the idol would need the wota to like her.

Arguably, super models aren't attractive in the same sense that a charismatic, pretty girls are. Some people don't like K-Pop because of the plastic look that's common in many groups. Many random J-Pop idol groups also have girls that are less pretty than most H!P girls. So there's a wide spectrum.

edit: Anyway, my point was that appearance is important to being an idol, so it's valid to like an idol more or less because of her looks. Similarly, even though we all say that singing ability isn't important, if an idol's career heavily involves singing then singing ability is a relevant plus.

About Zukki's weight, shes gonna have the same problems as Kago and Maasa would have and that'd be getting teased on television. That's the worse for girls. It's their job as idols anyway to encourage good health and be an example of being at a healthy weight. Fukuda Kanon acknowledges this and tries her best with her weight as an idol.

Glad this single sold well, couldv'e done better if they promoted the other A-side.

Those rankings really give me high hope in case they decide to promote The Matenrou Show later on...
Maybe they are trying to keep Momusu on the charts even after weekly new releases so that people can always see that they're there and still be interested in them

It's good that it never happens to thin idols.

Honestly there have been plenty of...let's say homely idols. Looks are important but they don't tend to make or break the career of idols. Isn't Harunan the least popular member of the group right now?

Come on now.

I didn't say looking good is the most important thing. I just said it's part of it, so if that's someone's reason for liking an idol then it's okay. If a girl applying to work in an office is being criticized for her looks then that's something else. Large-scale success doesn't really say much because a lot of other things start to play into it, like luck and how the idol is being promoted. I think a lot of people on this forum would say Kikkawa Yuu is prettier and more talented than all front girls from idol groups that sell a lot more combined.

Also, I find that Haruna often looks awkward because she's really thin and pretty tall, and the hairstyle they gave her for One Two Three makes her head looks small. She can look very good in still shots, of course, but you see she dances really awkwardly and it's a lot because of her figure (basically not really her fault. but when you're that way unless you grew up doing dance, ballet, etc. awkward posture tends to come--I've been tall and skinny all my life and I had to work on getting a good posture).

Haruna is the "Olive Oyl" character of the group; maybe she can't dance yet, but she was doing it.
Spoiler: show
I can't dance none either, or sing.
