^ i haven't really seen a split opinion on that? we may not remember the exact number, but it was definitely a rule that only X amount of CD's sold at events would count for Oricon. they probably reached that limit already, it wasn't a particularly large number. i'm don't know why there'd be a distinction between types of events (at least for H!P), considering all their events have/will consist of being either a handshake event, or the release event itself (which in essence is a handshake event too.. just longer and with merchandise available).
although.. i'm not sure whether they count the event sales on a per-day basis, or whether they tack them on in the weekly sales number.
^ luckily it's not just for this release/group. when we went to Mobekimasu events (the handshake event where they went to different cities in small groups, and later the Hello! Project Festival with all of Mobekimasu) it was the same thing.
i'm sure they've been doing it this way for a while. families/kids get it even better, they got to sit in front of everyone, in front of the barricades set up for the rest of the audience.
