She seems to me to have a normal voice, not particularly outstanding, not particularly bad. Plus, she's still young; she's got plenty of time to improve. And if not, well there's always the threat of a trade to keep her working on her skills.

This is so true for me because the reason I disliked Koharu was because she too could not sing and yet we always had to hear her voice.

This right here is what brings my attention to it. Like when Starra said her voice is fine. That's all it is, it's deserving of no praise at all. It simply exists on the lower end of mediocrity.

Clearly I have feelings about this that are far too strong lol.

Koharu didn't sound good at all
neither live or recorded, sick or healthy, young or older.

I'm not saying Riho's voice is the best. Omfg I cant stand how wonderful it sounds it's like Angels singing ahahejsiwndkanwkd

Riho sings fine. She's is only 14, give her a few years she'll be great. The skill is there, she's just young.

Riho and Koharu have some similarities in people hating on her because the Wota are crazy about her. But Riho actually has some worthwhile attributes so putting up with her mega push is much easier.

Koharu is arguably the worst member they ever had but she is good looking so she always got pushed to the front regardless of her lack of singing and dancing talent along with a boring personality. I guess when you can sell photobooks you don't need to be good at anything to get in an idol group

I think what makes Koharu easier to hate than others who have their haters is the fact she seems to have an ego the size of Jupiter.

Koharu's personality is amazing though. o_o Even if she was a bit of a... mess and apparently annoyingly inconsiderate, I wouldn't consider her boring in the slightest.

The difference is, at this point though, that Riho sounds better live than recorded. Whereas Koharu would sound worse live than recorded and even then she didn't sound that good.

Funny enough. That was the reason why I didn't completely dislike Koharu.
She felt she deserved everything plus more

I always found her pretty boring personally but then i may be biased because it was around the time that she joined where i became very dissatisfied with Morning Musume and started going on to other things. Same reason i'm not a big fan of the Platinum era it just reminds me of reasons i stopped caring about Morning Musume back then.
