Also I think the intention was to scare people into thinking she was graduating. Its just that people who are fluent in Japanese would immediately understand after they got down to the "chan" part. Also I think she is "graduating" from using chan to show she is more mature or something.

She's a 13-year-old girl with a reputation for being even more hyper than an idol normally should be. In other words, she's in her own world.
