I had a look at the sales estimates of Renai Hunter.

After 5 days it had a sales estimate of 35,114, that's behind C-ute's total up to now. And it finished the 1st week with a total estimate of 37,750. But it ended up selling 41,036 copies in the final weekly chart, that's 3,000+ copies more then the estimate.

If tomorrows estimate for C-ute is again over 2,500 copies it will have a higher estimate for the 1st week then Renai Hunter. Then it just depends on Oricon how many extra copies they will count for C-ute in the actual chart if they are actually able to outsell the 1st week of Renai Hunter.

This is my favorite single from C-ute. *-* I love it. Don't think I've ever loved an a-side from them as much as I love this actually. *-*

Japanese music buyers seem to love ballads and slower songs in general, so this selling well isn't too surprising lol. It also gives me high hopes for H!P's future as a whole.

This is really amazing!
That's a proof that even after long years in the industry, a group can still provide awesome entertainement and music for everyone (since it seems that not only fans purchased the single) can enjoy!

Way to go !

Up-Front has put more work into this promo than anything in years, so it HAD to rack up decent numbers. A 20K failure would've said to management than no amount of publicity will produce any movement for C-ute, and might've put them in that kind of limbo that Melon Kinenbi eventually wound up in. OTOH, if the final numbers were in the 50K+ range, we might've been looking at some serious MM/C-ute rivalry going forward. I think Up-Front was kind of hoping that this could be a crossover hit with mainstream audiences who would not even glance at an H!P single ordinarily. As it is, our girls will live to fight another day but they still haven't broken free of the wota ghetto.

Time will tell. After all, they are a ridiculously photogenic group with a lot of experience at lo-budget guerilla style promotion. Chisato alone is at least passingly familiar to hundreds of thousands of people for her dance covers from about 18 months ago. Maimi's been steadily building up recognition as a b-actress. And Maimai's Nanika series has gotten some strong numbers a few times; she's definitely turned into someone to watch.

Like Airi in dat skirt, this single may wind up having remarkably long legs.

I'll say this anyway, the choreography is awesome.

Lol, I didn't deliberately leave her out, or anything. She's not my favorite member of the group, but she's not my least favorite either. I did mention recently that she's recently gotten much more poised and mature; didn't think I needed to say it again but I guess I did. :P
