I'm confused now. I thought it was the JE guys who wanted to be known as musical artists. I thought the H!P girls are happy to be called idols.

they are actually. I think even Aichan (like the most talented girl to ever be in MM) said that being idols beat being artists in some convention, I'm sure. Both Reina and Sayu agreed with her.

Besides, being an idol group isn't an insult. It's what they are.

H!P are idols. The ***48 groups are idols. Momoclo are idols. Denpagumi are idols. TGS are idols.

Also, I agree with the whole "you don't need to be able to sing to be an idol".

^ you need to stop agreeing with DARC (and vice-versa), people get you two mixed up enough as it is.

on the idol talk, even if people find an idol boring, if she can sing/perform THAT well most people will at least accept why she is in the group. and if she' cute and charming to boot, she gets loads of fans (hence, Aichan). Aika was not very charming or cute, and also didn't bring much to the personality front, but if she was at least a really, really good singer/performer (not just acceptable depending on the song) people would respect her more as a contributing member.

but she really has none of those, so going back to koregaboku's point, it explains why she wasn't successful. most of the kyuukies are already more popular than her, and she is likely to be beaten by several of the juukies as well. no matter how you feel about Aika, you can't deny how people could arrive at the conclusion that she wasn't a successful idol within the group.

Aika is very little idol-like imo. ): I'm just sick of hearing people say she's an awful singer, because she isn't. xD
I do hope that they try to push her a bit this year though, it could possibly add some to her persona/let us know her more/whatever. Because I do hope she's able to stick around, even if just for the way she is backstage and all; a really good mentor and help out for 9th and 10th gen.

I used to get them mixed up... I think they joined around the same time? Or at least DARC changed his username around the same time as 321 joined?
But then I've actually met one of them so it became less difficult.
