I think that is a given. Lets be honest, the same goes for all non music shows if you can't speak japanese. I LOVE Waratte Iitomo but if it wasn't for my idols I wouldn't plow though it every week since I don't speak the language.

Speaking about the show I agree with Sohee quality wise MSG = SJG and format wise they are the same (Introduce new character-fight-end vs. Introduce new character-maths fight-end ).

I think what SJG has over MSG is it's lead characters. Acchan in MSG was such a bore and I LOVE Nachu but her character was boooooring. Where as our leads here are likeable if excentric. But MSG had cheesy drama and I love me some cheesey drama and I think SJG's 'math battles' may get old pretty fast...

Would I spend money on it. Well I feel like a bad fan already since I buy albums to save money on customs/shipping but if it was subbed and the story gets some cheesy drama/We see more of that kitten? Sure why not?

Yes (but in a charming way) if you include all drama's. But for it's target age group it is, imo, worse but not massivley. The last Jdrama I watched was Ikemen Desu ne and the wwritting in that was awful but perfectly cheesy and full of false tention.
No, MSGII was 100 times worse than the first one.
Maybe? Havn't watched DC shows since 2009 but it is much cheaper that normal and worse acted than say Wizards of Waverly Place. But from what I could tell writting wise they are the same. But I don't speak Japanese.

Actually, if I were in the right mood and the show wasn't too long, I would probably still watch it regardless of H!P involvement.

I've watched dramas that I already think of as being crappier than "Suugaku..", so.

Me-too, N-K. I've watched, and enjoyed, some REALLY HORRIFICALLY BAD doramas over the years, so this sounds appealing to me. It took a long time to download from H!O but it's finally done so I'm finna watch it in a moment! Excited!! :) :)

BTW, DSQueenie, Nachu annoyed the crap out of me in MSG1, but after all was said and done it was FAR FAR superior to the mostly Nachuless MSG2. In my opinion. (Some feel the opposite. But they're all crazy. Starra?)

I generally like cornball drama's, so I really like this. I'd probably watch it even if H!P wasn't in it.. I have watched (And enjoyed) worse.

I thought it was majorly enjoyable. ^^

Do we have viewership numbers yet? I don't know how long it usually takes to get those back...

I liked it. I was pretty impressed by Reina. She seems to me a better actress than Aichan, for instance.

That doesn't necessarily follow. Many people watch foreign TV shows simply for the novelty of it, without understanding the language or following a particular celebrity.
