10th gen audition (WINNERS: Haruna, Haruka, Masaki, Ayumi!)

10th gen may just revitalize my MM interest. 9th gen seem like such duds in comparison xD

I kind of agree with this. I like Kanon and Erina well enough. Initially, 10th gen all stand out more to me. But I'll have to wait until I see a PV/performance to really decide.

I don't mind people loving 10th gen, I'm quite a fan of Haruna and Masaki myself, so far.
But... we still haven't seen anything with them, pretty much. No single covers, no performances, no singing... And people already say they're so much better than 9th. Based on what exactly?

for me I think that 10th gen have already excelled past or if not are already at the same level as 9th Gen.

Even Tsunku said that 9th Gen will feel threatened, where the 2 gens are similar.

Masaki and Kanon - The Photogenic Underdogs = Equal
Erina and Haruna - The Models = Haruna wins for more experience
Fuku and Haruka - Past Eggs
Riho and Ayumi - Experienced Fierce Aces

Thats why Im personally excited in how things develop.

And I understand people loving Haruka because she was an Egg for a few years. And we've seen Haruna and Ayumi's pre-MM。stuff.

I love 9th gen so much, mostly for their personality even though they are talented and improving. Their personality doesn't quickly show (except for Kanon) and can look a bit boring in comparison to 10th gen. With 10th gen, they seem to have more potential and seem to come over stronger/established. Haruna wasn't shy at all during the concert and had some great energy, along with her knowledge on fashion. Ishida Ayumi is incredibly confident and competitive along with her obvious talents. With her personality, she comes very strongly over and her presence is felt. You don't have it often where idols are like 'I'm good and I know it' vibe to them. Haruka Kudou is also very strong for her age in a different way, she's been well trained and isn't as shy as Mizuki. Her comments are so funny and yet serious. Masaki seems to be the weakest link so far but even she seems to be in good position and well liked.

I think it's that 9th gen seem tame and quiet in comparison to 10th gen. That's very apparent to casual fans. Even though 9th gen came stronger over at the beginning. Maybe 10th gen will be more tame if they're trained and told what to do by managers. I like them equally and it's going to be interesting to watch them grow.

But saying they're "SO MUCH BETTER" just doesn't make sense. Lookwise? Sure, go on and say that someone is cuter than some other, but we have yet to see them as a part of Morning Musume. We don't know how they work in PVs or on stage during a performance along with the group. Or how they are with MCs for example. And to be honest we don't know how their personalities will end up either, once they've gotten a bit more used to the whole thing.

People don't have to see them on PV's or MC's to pick favourites as long as they like them in some way and can relate to them. The 'So much better' comment sounds silly, you either like a person more or less. It feels weird to measure it like that, whoever said it might have just been exaggerating.
