Morning Musume. '24 [17th Album "Professionals-17th" on 11/27]

Announced today at their release event, Morning Musume. '24 will release a new original album this Fall (last year was a Best album). Members say they are currently recording it and working hard on it. The release date is still a long way off, but the new songs will probably be shown off in the "WE CAN DANCE" Fall tour.

It will be Ishida Ayumi's last work.

I'm having a flashback to 2010 Fantasy! Juuichi ... I'm looking at you and lamenting how we didn't get to see EJL perform any of your original songs.

I really hope this time around we get to see Ayumi performing songs from this album. They've replaced some songs mid-tour when a single is coming out, but I don't see them replacing a bunch of the setlist if the album is coming out in late Nov/early Dec.

Today on Morning Musume. '24's radio show "Morning Jogakuin", the release date was announced. The new album will be released on November 27th, which is after the last tour date in Morning Musume. '24's Fall Concert "WE CAN DANCE" on November 25th.

They will definitely perform songs from the album during the concert. It’s the best sort of promo. If not, they are doing a stupid thing again.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m pretty sure Ayumi’s grad concert/venue hasn’t been announced yet so we’re probably looking at at least one, if not two or more concert dates after the release as well.

Such an album heavy year this has been. It's getting a bit much now to digest all the music. Where was this when I was bored out of my head this time last year? I'm still gonna try and give this album a couple listens though I let some other releases slide.
I'm srsly gonna look at the number of 2023 songs I added vs this year, it's at least double.

We were getting Juice=Juice and Momusu's Best Of albums. UFP seems to be going for a 3-4 year cycle on albums now, so next year should be another real J=J and Beyo... maybe a Rosy Chronicle first album.

^that's very fair but...I wasn't really vibing with H!P music besides TF and Anju last year. I should have clarified even groups outside of H!P that I like have pretty much *all* released albums this year to the point it's nuts. Even some guys on bandcamp who hadn't posted music in 2 years came back for 2024. There's something in the air this year.

Looking forward to this release, specially to hear about the "sound" they go with. The singles so far have had a wide range of styles. It's intriguing.
