I've never really seen an idol get FAT though... Makoto did get a bit close there, but she never hit fat, just bigger.

Makoto got bigger than Yossi but never fat.
Asians (at least Japanese) have it... weird/easy. Whenever they gain weight, it goes mainly to their face. It'll take a lot before you see a chubby Japanese person have bigger legs/butt/boobs/arms/stomach really. You can easily see someone have a round face, bigger arms, and still have thin legs like idek. It's... interesting.

I saw a lot of people say that about Makoto though i never really understood it. She always struck me as more athletic with strong arms and legs than chubby. Her waist was always slim whenever it was on show i guess the fact she has kind of a big face and a big chest compared to most Japanese girls makes her look larger.

Yossi got a little chubby in 2003 though she seemed to get rid of it pretty quick and the ones i always remember the most for having various weight gains were Tsuji & Kago i dunno if they were feeding them free candy or something but they really blew up at times. Tsuji was the first to kick the chubbyness i think Ai Kago was probably chubby from 2002 up until early 2005 from what i can remember.

On the subject of weight gains anyone think Suzuki Kanon put on a bit of weight? She kind of looks like she's getting a bit of a pot belly going on.

Tsuji and Kago did go up and down, but then again they were 12ish when they joined and kids in middle school DO go up and down in weight a lot. Which I think might be the same going on for Kanon, though I gotta say I think she's lost weight lately. The BLT photoshoots aren't recent really. Taken 2-3 days after 10th gen joined which is almost a month ago.
