I found out why my neighborhood is taboo for ducks these days. How many years has it been?

A sad duck story.
Today I was talking to the mother of the family of the children who had the inflatable swimming pool for the ducks in their front yard, around the corner from where I live. I asked what the story was. Why they stopped doing it. She said the male of the family of ducks that used the pool got run over and the ducks haven't been seen since. Thus, no pool anymore.

The lady's mother-in-law is moving in next door to me, and the lady's little children are now kids.

Sad ducks and happy ducks!

I'm on break from jury duty for a few days - we go in to continue deliberating on Monday.

Aging rock/pop stars (and everybody else): I am impressed that so many of them keep going, and often with a good amount of fresh enthusiasm and energy. That's an all-around good thing. At the same time...

Spoiler: show
I'm so ambivalent about my personal/emotional past that for the most part, I only feel comfortable about the present and the past two decades or so - I can only take the 20th century in small doses before I run back to the relative emotional safety of the utterly chaotic, very possibly destruction-bound, and hyperactive 21st century (and to Jpop, which has become a kind of refuge from both my own horror praeteritorum and those times when present-day chaos and acrimony start to burn me out).
All of which means... I don't know - maybe that there are a lot of ways to get old, and that some of them are a little weird. XD

I've been going around in internet circles about the proper declension for horror praeteritorum and I still don't know.

Since praeteritorum is a genitive plural modifying horror, it wouldn't change form, and all you have to worry about is declining horror (third declension), ergo:

Nom. sg. horror prateritōrum
Gen. sg. horrōris prateritōrum
Dat. sg. horrōrī prateritōrum
Acc. sg. horrōrem prateritōrum
Abl. sg. horrōre prateritōrum
Nom. pl. horrōrēs prateritōrum
Gen. pl. horrōrum prateritōrum
Dat. pl. horrōribus prateritōrum
Acc. pl. horrōrēs prateritōrum
Abl. pl. horrōribus prateritōrum

Horrōribus sounds like what happens when the transit system is taken over by zombies. XD

They ruin the fun of Halloween by always having to politicize it. They cannot keep politics out of everything. I intentionally tried to not display the political jibs but they are there.

Fair enough. Though I personally thoroughly subscribe to the libtard agenda, tbh even the amount of displays you did post from their yard are exhausting. I don't also need to be reminded that Trump sucks around every corner.
