Kasai Yuumi of Hello! Project's 11-member idol group Tsubaki Factory took the stage at the opening ceremony of the 46th National Youth Hockey Exchange Games held at the Oi Hockey Stadium in Shinagawa Tokyo on August 11th.
Kasai Yuumi and Kenta Tanaka, a former Japanese field hockey player representing Japan in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, took the stage at the opening ceremony of the 46th National Youth Sports Hockey Exchange Games held at the Oi Hockey Stadium.
Kasai, who played keeper for the field field hockey team in elementary and junior high school, was officially offered the position of field hockey ambassador by the Japan Hockey Association this year.
Before the opening ceremony, she said, "I also played hockey for six years from the fourth grade to the third grade of junior high school. I am very happy to be able to be involved in field hockey again in this way," she said, expressing his joy at becoming a field hockey ambassador. Kasao said to the Japanese athletes training for the Paris 2024 Olympics, "I have high expectations for the success of the Japanese athletes. Let's cheer them on together."
Kasai, who also celebrated her 20th birthday on July 30th said, "I am happy to become a field hockey ambassador on this milestone of my 20th birthday. I would like to continue to support hockey even more in the future," she reiterated her joy.
