I keep seeing this series recommended all over the place. I'll probably add it to my list since it's popped up here now too.

The first time I was truly gobsmacked by the "sea of cell phones" phenomenon was likewise at a Kpop event. It was in 2010, when Wonder Girls did a concert at the Fillmore in San Francisco with 2PM as the opening act. Sure, I'd seen scatterings of camera phones in audiences before that, but the ubiquity of the things at that show blew my mind.

Nowadays you could find entire concerts that people recorded on their cell phones.

Also, there are millions of Taylor Swift fans (me included) that have been watching streams of the shows as they're happening 2-3 nights every weekend for her current tour. She does two surprise songs every show, one on guitar and one on piano, so that's the part everyone always wants to see. Like it's not enough to just attend one show; you want to see every single show. I'm glad I got a ticket during the presale back in November because you can't find resale tickets for anything less than $1000 now. There's so much going on surrounding the tour, it's truly a cultural phenomenon.

I hope it all works out well for you.

Things are getting better. The next two months will be busy, and the potential for serious mistakes is HUGE, but things are getting better.

I have two hours now to get some sleep, so that's what I'm going to do.

Good to hear...but I hope you can steal a little more sleep, especially if you've got a lot of driving to do.

No, no driving. We're sticking close to home right now, for various reasons.

I had a big serving of nostalgia for lunch today. Taco Bell has (for a limited time) brought back the Enchirito, which was my go-to menu option back when I was a teenager. The aluminum tray and the black olive slices are gone, but all the essentials are still there.

As another serving of nostalgia, one of the TVs at Taco Bell was tuned to TNT, which was showing Star Wars. By that I mean the first film, which I saw at least half a dozen times before "Episode IV: A NEW HOPE" was tacked onto the crawl at the beginning. Unfortunately, I had to get the dialogue through closed captioning, but I could at least imagine the voice of James Earl Jones intoning, "The ability to destroy a planet is insignificant next to the power of the Force."

All I know is that Enchirito looks a lot like the Stoic ur-text, the Enchiridion, which gives the relevant advice to not be envious of anyone else's lettuce. It's like Epictetus prophetically knew the Enchirito would be woefully lacking in one of Taco Bell's staple condiments!

Something I've learned that might be of use to others…

Ibuprofen and Acetaminophen are not interchangeable.

Ibuprofen (a.k.a. Advil, Motrin) widens blood vessels and is processed by the kidneys.

Acetaminophen (a.k.a. Tylenol, Paracetamol) narrows blood vessels and is processed by the liver.

Which one you can take really depends on your pre-existing conditions and the other medications you're taking.

I kinda sorta knew this already, but now it's firmly in my mind.

Don't worry, this wasn't a contributing factor in the stuff I'm dealing with, but it is something I need to keep in mind going forward. Over-the-counter doses are so small that you'd have to take a lot to do serious damage; that's why they're approved for over-the-counter sales, after all. But it matters in the long run, and I almost made the mistake a couple nights ago.
