^ I would call that first store an antique store; there was nothing "thrift" about it! Too high-end for me, for the most part, but if I didn't have to pay to ship it home, I'd love to get that beautiful portable Victrola for ¥14,000, especially at the current exchange rate.

The Vintage Paper Fair is back in San Francisco next weekend, so I expect to spend about six hours rummaging through old postcards again. Much easier to accommodate in my limited living space than antique record players, apothecary cabinets, Japanese globes, and large robots!
